Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year family! I decided that I’m going to give this blog one more chance before I give up. So, I’m back…its’ been 6 months and I can’t believe it. So much has been going on, but at the same time, nothing has been happening. I don’t know how that even happens, lol! Just to give an update, I decided to go full vegan today! My son is still homeschooling. I’m not working right now…long story…but had to get out of there before I went elsewhere!! Still single, lol! But one thing is for sure, I am definitely looking…

Lessons From A Third Grade Dropout

I was first introduced to this book through Facebook. You know how when you log in on the site and scroll your timeline, there are a million videos to watch? Well, this one caught my attention when it started playing. He was standing at the podium, asked to give the commencement speech at a graduating class in Texas. What he said in those few moments of the video caught my attention. I sat there and watched the entire video: puzzled, emotional, and captivated all in one. I knew I had to get the book. In a week’s time, I would…

Getting Caught Up

…because I haven’t posted since April 28th. Ugh! Well, there’s been a few reasons. 1. I went to the Blogger 2 Boss Conference (put on by DFW Style Daily) in Dallas, TX with my family and had an amazing time in the city as well as at the conference. It was my first time going to a blogging conference as well as going to Dallas. We had an amazeballs time! It was also my first time flying on American Airlines. (We’re a Delta family, but the flights were ridiculously priced!!) I will post more on the conference AND my trip…

Local Civil Unrest

I swear, do all police agencies think that bringing in the National Guard is the answer? Why are you a LEO if you can’t control your area and only call in the big boys when you’re scared? Calling in outside help can’t always be the damn answer. For years, Jacksonville refused to accept that there were gangs here. Interesting enough. Those of us on this side of the bridges have known since the beginning. When I went to school across these same bridges, gangs existed. I’m 35, do the dang on math. Hell, when I taught, I had students who…

Grad School, Yet Again?!?!

I was supposed to start last night in the Human Resources Management program. Yet, I did not go. They e-mail like crazy about the same stuff over and over…for instance, Orientation. I understood it the first time when you said that all new students needed to attend, but damn, is it necessary to e-mail DAILY? I think not! And no, it’s not the same person e-mailing, it’s about 3-4 different people, lol!
